Manor Farm is a working farm bed and breakfast in the village of Gillamoor, situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Location Please note we are at the Manor Farm, not Manor House which is also situated in the village. About The Area The National Park has been established for over 50 years and is an area of outstanding, unspoilt beauty. From Gillamoor there is easy access to the stunning coastline and seaside towns such as Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby, all with their own character and history, including Captain Cook, smugglers and old whaling traditions. York is less than an hour away with its ancient buildings including York Minster dating back to the 12th century. The city boasts of its Roman and Viking history and there are many reminders and attractions of their occupation of the city. Closer to Gillamoor there is beautiful Farndale, awash with daffodils in the Spring; it is a sight that even matches Woodsworth’s poem! Using Gillamoor as your base you can explore the windswept countryside along well maintained but sometimes narrow country lanes. There are many pubs in which to enjoy home made cooking and traditional beers; all accompanied by friendly service and value for money.

Two US researchers calculated that a monster wind farm spread across three million square kilometres of the ocean – a region roughly the size of India – would yield an average power output of 18 terawatts TW per year. The duo – from the Carnegie Institution for Science at Stanford University, California – pointed out wind speeds are on average 70 per cent higher over the Earth’s oceans than over the land.
North Atlantic winds tap into a huge reservoir of energy created by heat pouring into the atmosphere from the ocean surface.

Some of our customer reviews The fire log heater is a lovely touch outside and sat in front of that for 2 nights having a wine or baileys!!! Lovely pubs nearby and great restaurants. Very rustic and loved it, wouldn’t hesitate in returning!!! The cabin it’s self is cozy with the most comfortable bed like snuggling down into a nest literally!!
It has everything u need and the design is perfectly thought out! The owners are amazing not only do they genuinely care if you are comfortable they can’t do enough for you! However, they do it from a distance so they don’t disrupt your stay. My 4 nights at Kites Nest was peaceful, comfortable with gorgeous surroundings!!! Not only did I need a few days of peace and quite but I’d given up smoking and needed to be away from the general population!!
It was the perfect place to kick back, read, listen to music and de-stress!! Julie – London Well thought out, attractive and immaculately clean accommodation with everything we needed.
